Position: Child Caregiver
Location: Accra, Ghana

Makay’s Precious Kids provides more than just daycare. We create a true “home away from home” for every child who walks through our doors. Therefore, we need a compassionate, patient, and energetic caregiver to join our growing team. You will help shape young lives during their most formative years.

What You Will Do Every Single Day

This role demands both heart and stamina. You will not just watch children. Instead, you will actively engage, teach, comfort, and protect them. Here is what your daily responsibilities will look like:

Maintain a warm, holistic nurturing environment. Set up activity areas that spark curiosity. Keep the space clean, organized, and safe. Rotate toys and learning materials to prevent boredom.
Look after basic needs without fail. Feed children at scheduled times. Change diapers or assist with toilet training. Put little ones down for naps. Watch for signs of illness or distress.
Lead fun, educational activities. Sing songs during circle time. Dance to children’s favorites. Read picture books with silly voices. Guide simple arts and crafts projects.
Supervise play actively. Stay on your feet during outdoor time. Intervene when sharing becomes a challenge. Celebrate kind behavior immediately.
Communicate with parents daily. Share highlights of each child’s day. Report any bumps, bruises, or behavior concerns honestly. Build trust through transparency.

Who Fits This Role Best

You do not need a university degree. However, you must bring the right heart and mindset. Specifically:

God‑fearing, compassionate, and respectful. Your faith or moral grounding will guide how you treat each child as a unique gift.
A minimum of Diploma or WASSCE. Show us your certificate. Your character matters more, but we need proof of basic education.
At least one year of experience in early childhood care and development. This can include babysitting, Sunday school teaching, or working at another daycare.
Physical ability to perform real tasks. Stand for hours. Kneel to tie tiny shoes. Bend to pick up dropped snacks. Sit on the floor during playtime. Carry a tired toddler.
Willingness to complete first aid certification. We will provide the training. You must show up ready to learn CPR and emergency response.
Ability to pass background checks. We take child safety seriously. Expect verification of your identity and references.
Genuine joy in singing, dancing, and being fun‑loving. Children know when an adult fakes enthusiasm. Bring your real silly side.
Patience, strong listening skills, and calm under pressure. A room full of crying toddlers will test anyone. You must breathe deep and respond kindly.
