Position: Production Blastman

Nestlé Ghana is seeking a Local Sourcing Manager to join our team in Accra. If you have demonstrated leadership experience managing teams, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and a cost optimization mindset, this role offers the opportunity to develop and implement sourcing strategies for locally managed categories, lead a team of Strategic Buyers, conduct market and risk analysis, plan negotiation events, drive supplier innovation, and ensure compliance with Nestlé’s procurement policies.

As a Local Sourcing Manager, you will not simply buy goods; you will develop, validate, communicate, and implement sourcing strategies using Nestlé’s Strategic Sourcing processes, policies, and tools. Your Mission

You will lead and manage a team of Strategic Buyers to define and implement strategies for locally managed categories, utilizing the Strategic Sourcing process tools, templates, and policies developed by NesTrade. Your role includes developing deep category expertise, conducting demand and supplier market analysis, category analysis, and supply risk analysis, developing Total Cost of Ownership understanding, planning and executing negotiation events, promoting compliance with Nestlé’s Corporate Business Principles, building stakeholder relationships, driving supplier innovation, leading contract management and Supplier Relationship Management, and ensuring accurate contract and supplier data management.

Your role spans team leadership, market analysis, negotiation, compliance, stakeholder engagement, supplier innovation, contract management, and data management. Here is what you will tackle:

Team Leadership

• You will lead and manage a team of Strategic Buyers to define and implement strategies for locally managed categories.
• Then, Building capability within the team through deep category expertise development.

Market & Risk Analysis

• You will conduct demand and supplier market analysis, category analysis, and supply risk analysis.
• Also, Developing Total Cost of Ownership understanding and mapping sourcing processes.

Negotiation & Strategy

• You will plan and execute negotiation events, seeking best TCO contracts and beneficial commercial agreements.
• Afterwards, Identifying improvement opportunities in sourcing processes and channels.

Compliance

• You will promote and ensure compliance with Nestlé’s Corporate Business Principles, Procurement policies, standardized models, supplier codes, and best practices.

Stakeholder Engagement

• You will build strong relationships with stakeholders to integrate category plans into local budgets and price planning processes.
• Then, Aligning sourcing strategies with business outcomes.

Supplier Innovation

• You will drive supplier innovation and continuous cost improvement initiatives.
• Seeking new ideas and cost reductions from the supply base.

Contract & Relationship Management

• You will lead contract management and Supplier Relationship Management, including SLA reviews.
• Afterwards, Ensuring suppliers meet performance expectations.

Data Management

• You will ensure accurate contract and supplier data management, including SAP contracts, purchasing info records, and master data.

What You Bring to the Role

Education & Experience

• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• A minimum of five years of experience in Strategic Sourcing or Procurement.
• A proven track record of delivering competitive advantage to the business through effective sourcing strategy development and implementation.
• Robust expertise in managing multiple spend categories and strong knowledge of strategic sourcing processes.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and driving results.

Technical Skills

• Strong negotiation and project management capabilities.
• Solid experience in supplier relationship and risk management.
• Good knowledge of e auctions and procurement tools gives you an advantage.
• Strong cost optimization mindset.

Soft Skills

• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.
• Ability to prioritize and compartmentalize effectively, managing competing priorities.
