Network International is seeking a Head of Finance to provide strategic leadership over general ledger integrity and statutory financial reporting across the region. If you possess a good understanding of Bank of Ghana finance regulations, experience with ERP systems (Oracle preferred), and strong Excel skills, this role offers the opportunity to lead GL accounting, manage statutory reporting, act as primary point of contact for auditors and regulators, oversee intercompany accounting, provide technical guidance on complex transactions, and drive process improvements.

As Head of Finance, you will not simply close books; you will ensure high quality, compliant, timely financial statements under IFRS and local GAAP, partner with Group Finance, auditors, and regulators, and foster a culture of trust, accountability, and achievement.

Your Mission: Lead, Oversee, and Ensure Compliance

You will take responsibility for leading and overseeing general ledger accounting activities across the region, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely month end and year end closings. Your role includes ensuring statutory financial statements are prepared and filed in compliance with local GAAP, IFRS, and country specific regulatory requirements, managing the end to end statutory reporting calendar for multiple entities, acting as the primary point of contact for external auditors and regulators, reviewing and approving balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring consistent application of accounting policies, overseeing intercompany accounting, monitoring compliance with local statutory requirements, providing technical accounting guidance, leading and coaching the regional GL and statutory reporting team, partnering with Tax, Treasury, FP&A, and Group Finance, and driving process improvements and automation.

Key Responsibilities

Your role spans GL accounting, statutory reporting, audit management, balance sheet reconciliations, policy standardization, intercompany accounting, compliance monitoring, technical guidance, team leadership, and process improvement. Here is what you will tackle:

GL Accounting

You will lead and oversee general ledger accounting activities across the region.
Then, Ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely month end and year end closings.

Statutory Reporting

You will ensure statutory financial statements are prepared and filed in compliance with local GAAP, IFRS, and country specific regulatory requirements.
Also, Managing the end to end statutory reporting calendar for multiple entities.

Audit Management

You will act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, regulators, and local authorities.
Moreover, Ensuring smooth audits and timely resolution of audit findings.

Balance Sheet Reconciliations

You will review and approve balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring clear ownership, aging analysis, and timely clearance of reconciling items.

Policy Standardization

You will ensure consistent application of accounting policies.
Then, Driving standardization and alignment with Group accounting guidelines across all entities.

Intercompany Accounting

You will oversee intercompany accounting, including reconciliations, confirmations, and elimination support.
Ensuring consistency with group reporting.

Compliance Monitoring

You will monitor and ensure compliance with local statutory requirements, including filings, disclosures, and board approved financial statements.

Technical Guidance

You will provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions, new standards, and regulatory changes.

Team Leadership

You will lead, coach, and develop the regional GL and statutory reporting team.
Fostering strong internal controls, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Cross Functional Partnership

You will partner with Tax, Treasury, FP&A, and Group Finance teams.
Ensuring alignment between statutory, management, and consolidation reporting.

Process Improvement

You will drive process improvements, automation, and control enhancements within GL and statutory reporting.
Improving efficiency, quality, and timeliness.

What You Bring to the Role

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a relevant field.
An IFRS Diploma is a must.

Experience

Six to ten years of experience in GL operations and statutory reporting.
At least three years in a similar role within a multinational company.
An external audit background with a Big 4 firm.
A good understanding of Bank of Ghana finance regulations.
Experience with ERP systems; Oracle is preferred.
Knowledge of IFRS and local tax regulations gives you a plus.
Strong understanding of month end closing, GL, and fixed asset processes.
Some experience working on projects such as system upgrades or transitions is preferred.
Experience working in a multi currency environment is preferred.
