POSITION: Heavy Duty and Light Duty Auto Mechanics

Zonda Tec Ghana Limited is seeking Heavy Duty and Light Duty Auto Mechanics for our Obuasi Branch. If you possess attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure with little or no supervision, this role offers the opportunity to assemble brand new vehicles, inspect engines, diagnose mechanical issues, repair broken parts, fix breakdowns, and ensure newly assembled vehicles meet quality standards.

Your Mission

You will take responsibility for assembling brand new light duty and heavy duty vehicles and machines, ensuring every component fits correctly. Your role includes inspecting light duty and heavy duty vehicle engines to diagnose mechanical issues accurately, repairing or replacing broken or dysfunctional parts, using various hand tools and diagnostic equipment to assess and fix automobile issues, repairing broken down vehicles, and checking that newly assembled vehicles are properly assembled and ready for sale.

Key Responsibilities

Your role spans assembly, inspection, diagnosis, repair, tool use, breakdown response, and quality checks. Here is what you will tackle:

Assembly

You will assemble brand new light duty and heavy duty vehicles and machines, following manufacturer specifications.
Ensuring every component is properly fitted and torqued.

Inspection and Diagnosis

You will inspect light duty and heavy duty vehicle engines to diagnose mechanical issues accurately.
Using diagnostic equipment to identify faults before disassembly.

Repair

You will repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts, fixing light duty and heavy duty vehicle and machine issues.
Performing roadside repairs when vehicles break down away from the workshop.

Tool Use

You will use various hand tools and diagnostic equipment to assess and fix automobile issues.
Maintaining tools in good working condition.

Breakdown Response

You will repair broken down vehicles, responding to roadside calls when needed.
Troubleshooting quickly to get vehicles back on the road.

Quality Checks

You will check to ensure newly assembled vehicles are properly assembled and ready for sale.
Conducting final inspections before vehicles leave the workshop.

What You Bring to the Role

Academic Qualification and Skills

WASSCE, NABTEX, or HND in Automobile Engineering.
Two to four years of working experience in the repair and maintenance of vehicles and machines.
Experience servicing heavy duty vehicles and machines.
Roadside auto mechanic experience.
Ability to work under pressure with little or no supervision.
Attention to detail and accuracy when performing servicing on vehicles.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team, following instructions and collaborating with coworkers.
Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment, handling multiple tasks and priorities with minimal supervision.
Commitment to safety, cleanliness, and orderliness in the workshop, adhering to safety protocols, sanitation standards, and housekeeping practices.
