GOD’S GOODNESS

Scripture Reading: Jeremiah 32

Yes, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will assuredly plant them in this land, with all My heart and with all My soul.' Jeremiah 32:41
 
God assured His people of restoration. They were in exile in a foreign land, facing difficulties. In the midst of those circumstances, the Lord showed up with a word of hope and a promise.
 
Consider these words of assurance that the Lord gave to His people. What He told Israel then, He is telling us today.

I will rejoice over them.

The Lord wants to bless us more than we want to be blessed. He rejoices in seeing his children doing well and having a good time.
 
Sadly, Christians at times make it appear as if God is always upset with us. They act as though God’s sole purpose is to punish us and make our lives miserable. On the contrary, God takes pleasure in giving us all things that pertain to life and godliness.

I will do them good.

That is a promise of God’s intention and determination to reverse the situation that has overtaken His people. If you have had bad things happening to you in a while, the Lord promises to load you with good things. It is a promise that God wants to joyfully fulfill.
 
It is not a burden or a worry for Him to do us good. He enjoys doing good things for us. Today, He re-emphasizes that promise to you. He wants to do you good. It will be His joy to arise on your behalf and release His favour and blessings over your life.

I will plant them.

 God does not just want to do us good occasionally. He desires to plant us in a place of goodness. He promised to plant His people in their own land. He promised to establish them in a place that He had designed and set aside for them.
 
Today, you can lay hold of that promise for yourself. Allow the Lord to plant and establish you so that nothing will move you from the place He has planted you.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, let me experience your goodness. Plant me in the centre of your will. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
