POSITION: Senior Manager, RAN Planning & Optimization

MTN Ghana is seeking an exceptional Senior Manager, RAN Planning & Optimization to spearhead the strategic design, planning, and optimization of our converged Radio Access Network (RAN) .

This senior leadership role places you at the forefront of MTN’s technological advancement. You will lead the strategic planning of a cost-efficient RAN across 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G technologies, ensuring that our network delivers enhanced coverage, capacity, and superior user experience for all customers .

Strategic Responsibilities

Your influence will span multiple critical areas:

RAN Strategy & Network Design

• You will develop a forward-looking RAN evolution strategy for a 5+ year horizon, considering emerging technologies .
• Translating business growth and subscriber demand into scalable network capacity requirements will be central to your role.
• You will ensure the RAN architecture supports current and future services, including voice, data, fintech, and digital solutions.

Financial Leadership & Cost Optimization

• You will manage departmental budgets aligned with the company’s business objectives.
• Driving CAPEX and OPEX efficiency across RAN operations will be a key responsibility .
• Controlling expenditure related to licensing, quality, and network expansion requires strong financial acumen.

Performance Excellence & Quality Management

• You will ensure all KPI and QoS targets are achieved across the RAN.
• Leading performance monitoring, reporting, and continuous improvement cycles will be essential .
• You will develop advanced methodologies to enhance network performance and user satisfaction.

Stakeholder & Vendor Governance

• You will lead RAN solution design and manage relationships with regulators, equipment vendors, TowerCos, and managed service partners .
• Serving as the technical lead in procurement and vendor negotiations protects MTN’s interests.

Your Credentials

• Education & Certification: You need a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field; a postgraduate qualification is an advantage, and a professional certification is mandatory .
• Experience: You bring a minimum of 10 years of telecommunications experience, with a strong focus on RAN planning and optimization, and at least 5 years in a senior managerial role .
• Technical Knowledge: You possess deep expertise in radio propagation principles, 4G/5G/IoT network planning, KPI optimization, and a strong understanding of VoLTE, VoWiFi, and modern voice technologies .
