POSITION: Warehouse Assistant

Matrix Agroscience is seeking an Accountant to manage financial operations and support strategic decision making. If you have advanced Microsoft Excel skills, high integrity, and strong analytical abilities, this role offers the opportunity to maintain accurate financial records, manage accounts payable and receivable, reconcile bank statements, process payroll, support budgeting, and ensure GRA compliance.

As an Accountant, you will not simply process transactions; you will prepare and maintain accurate financial records, manage supplier and distributor accounts, reconcile bank statements, monitor cash flow, process payroll, ensure timely statutory payments, support budgeting and forecasting, collaborate with operations and warehouse teams on inventory records, and monitor expenses. Your work will help maintain the financial health of a growing agribusiness.

Key Responsibilities

Your role spans financial record keeping, accounts management, reconciliation, payroll, budgeting, inventory, reporting, compliance, audit support, and cost control. Here is what you will tackle:

Financial Record Keeping

• You will prepare and maintain accurate financial records, reports, and statements.
• Ensuring every transaction is properly categorized and documented.

Accounts Management

• You will manage accounts payable and receivable, including supplier and distributor accounts.
• Tracking invoices and following up on overdue payments.

Reconciliation & Cash Flow

• You will reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow.
• Identifying discrepancies and ensuring sufficient liquidity.

Payroll & Statutory Payments

• You will process payroll and ensure timely statutory payments including SSNIT, PAYE, VAT, and NHIL.
• Meeting filing deadlines to avoid penalties.

Budgeting & Forecasting

• You will support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Providing historical data and variance analysis.

Inventory Financial Records

• You will maintain inventory related financial records in collaboration with operations and warehouse teams.
• Ensuring inventory valuation matches physical counts.

Reporting & Compliance

• You will prepare monthly and annual financial reports for management.
• Ensuring compliance with Ghana Revenue Authority regulations and other statutory bodies.

Audit Support

• You will assist with internal and external audits.
• Preparing schedules and responding to auditor queries.

Cost Control

• You will monitor company expenses and recommend cost control measures.
• Identifying inefficiencies and suggesting improvements.

What You Bring to the Role

Education & Certification

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certification such as ACCA, ICA Ghana, or CIMA gives you an added advantage.

Experience

• A minimum of three to five years of accounting experience. Experience in agribusiness gives you a plus.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of Ghanaian tax laws and financial regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Tally.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.

Skills & Competencies

• High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Good communication and reporting abilities.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
