Study in South Korea | Seoul National University 2027

Seoul National University (SNU) has opened applications for its Spring 2027 Global Talent Special Admission program, inviting international students to apply for master’s, integrated master’s-PhD, and doctoral degrees across a wide range of disciplines.

The university’s admissions process is closely tied to scholarship opportunities, including potential full tuition coverage and living support. Known for its strong research output, global partnerships, and academic excellence, SNU offers access to leading research networks, funded projects, and career opportunities in South Korea’s innovation-driven economy.

Why This Admission Round Matters

SNU’s international admissions are closely connected to scholarship opportunities for foreign students and researchers. Its strong research reputation, global partnerships, and excellence across diverse fields make it a leading destination for graduate study.

For many international students, admission to SNU provides access to regional research networks, funded projects, and career opportunities within South Korea’s innovation-driven economy.

Financial Support Available for International Students

One of the most attractive aspects of the 2027 admission cycle is the availability of scholarship funding for eligible international candidates. Through the Graduate Scholarship for Foreign Students (GSFS), selected students may receive full tuition exemption for up to four semesters, along with a monthly stipend of approximately 500,000 KRW .

Applicants from developing countries who are currently employed as university faculty members may also be considered for the SNU President Fellowship Program (SPF). This funding package is significantly more comprehensive and can include:

Full doctoral tuition coverage
Monthly living allowance
Round-trip international airfare
Health insurance support
Korean language training
Childcare support for eligible recipients

For many applicants, these funding schemes can substantially reduce the overall cost of studying in South Korea.

Who Should Consider Applying

The application is for graduate programs and requires a completed bachelor’s (for Master’s) or master’s (for PhD) degree. International applicants need strong academic records, clear research goals, and must submit transcripts, recommendation letters, a statement of purpose, and other program-specific documents.

Application Process and Key Timeline

Applications are submitted online along with supporting documents and two recommendation letters. Applicants to portfolio-based programs, such as architecture, design, music, and fine arts, may need to submit additional materials.

For Spring 2027 admission, applications are open from 6–9 July 2026, with recommendation letters due by 10 July 2026. Admission results are expected in November 2026, giving successful candidates time to complete visa and enrollment requirements.
