POSITION: Business Development Manager
Jumia, a leading pan African e commerce platform, is seeking a Demand Planner to align supply chain activities with demand forecasts, ensuring optimal stock availability across our marketplace. If you have strong attention to detail, the ability to manage large datasets, and experience with supplier collaboration and financial reconciliation, this role offers the opportunity to prepare and manage purchase orders, schedule inbound deliveries, maintain data quality, and partner with finance to resolve invoice discrepancies.

As Demand Planner, you will not simply forecast; you will act as the critical link between supply chain, finance, and commercial teams, ensuring efficient inbound scheduling and accurate inventory data.
Key Responsibilities
Your role spans PO management, inbound planning, inventory control, data maintenance, and finance liaison. Here is what you will tackle:
PO Management & Supplier Alignment
- You will prepare, raise, and manage POs in OMS for new and existing products, aligning with weekly procurement meeting decisions and MOQ approvals.
- Liaising with vendors to confirm costs, quantities, and delivery dates.
- Collaborating with Key Account Managers to verify pricing accuracy.
- Tracking the PO lifecycle, routing orders for approval, and promptly closing out fulfilled or delayed orders.
Inbound Planning & Inventory Control
- You will schedule and book stock deliveries in the Inbound Scheduler, notifying management and providing daily schedules to warehouse security.
- Maintaining data quality by resolving SKU mismatches with commercial teams.
- Monitoring product launch statuses via PowerBI dashboards.
- Providing weekly inbound performance reviews, tracking reschedules, failed deliveries, and missing paperwork.
Data Maintenance & Finance Liaison
- You will collect and update supply chain data including EANs, costs, and discontinued lines from suppliers.
- Ensuring implementation by Key Account Managers.
- Partnering with the Finance team to flag and resolve incorrect, mismatched, or missing vendor invoices.
What We Are Looking For
Data & Analytical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and BI tools.
- Proven ability to analyze and manage large datasets.
Stakeholder & Supplier Management
- Strong communication skills to effectively manage supplier relationships.
- Ability to collaborate with internal commercial teams.
Organization & Execution
- Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and project coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple timelines efficiently.
Attention to Detail
- High accuracy in data management, purchase order creation, and financial tracking.
- Minimizing supply chain errors through precision.
Systems Expertise
- Hands on experience or familiarity with Jumia’s core tools including OMS, Inbound Scheduler, and BOB/PET is highly preferred.
