Most merit based scholarships chase grades alone. University College London just flipped that model. The IMPACT Scholarship 2027 offers up to £20,500 for applicants admitted to the Online Master of Public Health programme. Two awards are available for the 2026/27 intake.
What You Actually Receive
The scholarship covers tuition fees up to £20,500 per recipient . Full time, part time, and modular flexible learners all qualify. For part time and modular flexible options, the award applies pro rata toward tuition fees.

Preventing and redressing inequality sits at the core philosophy of the UCL MPH programme . Consequently, the IMPACT Scholarship specifically supports individuals whose lived experiences of inequality shaped their commitment to improving population health outcomes. This makes the award fundamentally different from standard academic scholarships.
The selection panel seeks candidates who demonstrate:
- How their experience of inequality shaped their drive to study Public Health
- Why scholarship support matters for their educational journey
- How they will use the MPH qualification to make a difference to population health in their future career
A panel of two assessors reviews and scores each application separately. The two highest scoring candidates receive the awards.
Who Should Apply
Eligibility requires all of the following:
- Lived experience of inequality (income, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, carer responsibilities, adverse childhood experiences, social exclusion, or disability)
- Meet admissions criteria for the UCL Online Master of Public Health (MPH)
- Submit an admission application for the MPH programme starting in 2026/27

The last date to apply is 30 June 2026 at 11:59 PM BST. Recipients will receive notification of results in early August 2026 .
