Available Scholarship Programmes for 2027
1. Scholarship for Students and PhD Candidates in Cairo
This programme supports students and doctoral candidates who wish to spend an extended period conducting academic research in Egypt. Three places are available for the winter semester from 1 October 2026 to 31 January 2027.
2. Archaeological Expedition Scholarships
This pathway supports applicants who want to participate directly in archaeological field expeditions in Egypt. Scholarship duration can range from 1 month to 12 months annually, with one funded month requiring a minimum stay of 28 days in Egypt.
Who Can Apply?
Student and PhD Candidate Scholarship: Applicants must be first or second year Master’s students in Archaeology or Egyptology, or doctoral researchers working on Egypt-related dissertation topics . Research areas must relate to the archaeology of Egypt, ancient Egyptian history, Egyptian culture, Egyptian religion, or neighbouring regions.
The scholarship is specifically dedicated to students, doctoral candidates, and employees of Polish universities.

Applicants must complete an online application and submit:
- Project title in Polish
- Project title in English
- Research project description (maximum 1,000 words)
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- List of publications
- Expected project outcomes
Additionally, candidates must email a student status certificate or diploma copy, and a recommendation letter from a thesis supervisor or relevant academic expert.
