POSITION: Music Teacher

Core Responsibilities

Your daily activities will encompass a comprehensive range of musical education functions:

• Deliver engaging music lessons that develop students’ theoretical knowledge and practical skills
• Conduct and manage the school orchestra, preparing students for performances and competitions
• Provide individual and group instruction on various musical instruments
• Plan and coordinate music programs for school events, chapel services, and special occasions
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback for continuous improvement
• Select appropriate repertoire that challenges students while remaining accessible
• Maintain musical instruments and equipment in good working condition
• Collaborate with colleagues to integrate music into broader school activities
• Foster a love for music that extends beyond the classroom setting

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Educational Foundation: Candidates must hold a major in Music from a recognized institution. This qualification should demonstrate comprehensive understanding of music theory, performance, and pedagogy.
• Specialized Capabilities: The ability to handle and conduct an orchestra remains essential for this role. You must demonstrate proficiency in conducting ensemble performances and coordinating group rehearsals effectively. Experience teaching various instruments proves equally important, as you will instruct students across multiple disciplines.
• Additional Attributes: Strong communication skills enable effective interaction with students, parents, and colleagues. Patience and creativity help you engage learners at different skill levels. Commitment to the school’s Christian values and mission guides your approach to education. Organizational abilities support your coordination of rehearsals, performances, and events.
