We currently seek Health & Safety Specialists to support safety operations across our factory. This position places you at the heart of our safety initiatives, where you will conduct inspections, deliver training, investigate incidents, and ensure full compliance with regulatory standards. Your expertise will directly influence the safety culture at Twyford, protecting employees and enhancing operational efficiency.
Your Core Responsibilities
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments across all factory areas, identifying potential hazards and implementing corrective measures promptly.
- Deliver comprehensive safety training and induction programs for new and existing employees, fostering a culture of safety awareness and responsibility.
- Investigate incidents thoroughly and prepare detailed reports, identifying root causes and recommending preventive actions to avoid recurrence.
- Monitor compliance with safety policies rigorously, ensuring all activities adhere to internal standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate safety records and documentation systematically, supporting transparency and continuous improvement.
- Support emergency response planning initiatives, conducting drills and updating procedures to ensure preparedness for any situation.
- Collaborate with departmental heads to integrate safety considerations into daily operations and decision making processes.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes, proactively adapting safety programs to maintain excellence.
What We Are Looking For
To succeed in this role, you must bring a combination of academic qualifications, professional certifications, and personal attributes. Specifically, we require:
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a closely related field from a recognized institution.
- Professional Certifications: NEBOSH or IOSH certification, demonstrating your commitment to international safety standards.
- Experience: Prior experience in industrial safety provides a distinct advantage, though we welcome motivated candidates with strong foundational knowledge.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication for delivering training, preparing reports, and engaging with diverse stakeholders.
- Analytical Abilities: Capacity to conduct risk assessments, investigate incidents, and identify effective solutions.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to inspections, record keeping, and compliance monitoring.
- Proactive Mindset: Initiative to identify safety improvement opportunities and implement changes without waiting for direction.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with colleagues across departments to achieve shared safety goals.

Duty Station
This position is based at our factory in Takoradi, Western Region. Candidates must either reside in Takoradi or demonstrate willingness to relocate.
