POSITION: General Ledger & Accounts Payable Lead
Job Summary
Reporting directly to the SBS Manager for Ghana and Francophone Countries, the General Ledger and Accounts Payable Lead occupies a pivotal position bridging financial operations across two distinct markets. This role demands precision, strategic thinking, and unwavering dedication to maintaining financial integrity while simultaneously strengthening vendor relationships and driving cost effective practices. Your influence will extend across Ghana and Senegal, ensuring consistent financial governance while adapting to local nuances.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit Annual Financial Statements that meet both statutory requirements and group expectations with absolute accuracy.
- Perform monthly and annual Corporate Income Tax computations alongside Deferred Tax calculations, ensuring timely filings across jurisdictions.
- Manage Transfer Pricing workings while guaranteeing annual documentation submission complies fully with local regulations.
- Coordinate seamlessly with external auditors to facilitate timely completion of Customs, Group, and Statutory audits without unnecessary delays.
- Lead comprehensive reviews of Balance Sheet analysis, Profit and Loss accounts, and Trial Balance reconciliations to verify completeness and precision.
- Review and submit financials alongside group reporting packages while strictly adhering to corporate timelines.
- Oversee Payroll file reviews, postings, and HR related provisions including STI, incentives, and leave accruals with meticulous attention.
- Ensure accurate review and posting of prepayments while managing the Fixed Asset Register and depreciation schedules effectively.
- Lead management of staff loan and advance schedules, guaranteeing timely reconciliations and transparent reporting.
- Review and validate P&L and Balance Sheet files from other Business Units, providing constructive feedback that elevates reporting quality.
- Ensure submission of tax payment details for all GB African entities reaches Corporate Finance without fail.
- Respond to financial requests from management and corporate stakeholders promptly and professionally.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of seven years of progressive experience in financial management.
- Proven track record of managing finance across multi-country operations, particularly within West Africa.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, tax regulations, transfer pricing, and group reporting.
- Proficiency in SAP or an equivalent ERP system, with the ability to integrate seamlessly into existing financial workflows.
