POSITION: Data Analyst 

MSI Ghana is currently recruiting a highly skilled Data Analyst to support its mission of expanding access to quality health and reproductive services across Ghana. This opportunity suits professionals who enjoy working with complex datasets while influencing strategic decisions.

To begin with, MSI Ghana operates as a leading provider of sexual and reproductive health services. The organization works closely with national stakeholders to deliver affordable and accessible care. As a result, data plays a central role in measuring performance, improving outcomes, and guiding long term strategy.

Role Overview

In this role, you will act as a strategic partner across multiple business units. You will design data systems, analyze performance, and guide teams toward evidence based decisions. At the same time, you will ensure that data moves beyond reporting and actively shapes operations and service delivery.

Core Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will span across analytics, systems, and organizational performance:

Data Systems and Architecture

  • Design and manage integrated data systems across all business units
  • Ensure seamless data flow across platforms such as DHIS2, ERP, and dashboards
  • Improve system performance by identifying gaps and introducing solutions
  • Maintain data governance standards including documentation and compliance

Data Quality and Accountability

  • Lead initiatives that improve data accuracy, completeness, and consistency
  • Conduct routine data quality assessments and enforce standards
  • Build capacity across teams to strengthen data usage and accountability
  • Monitor performance trends and highlight areas for improvement

Advanced Analytics and Insights

  • Perform detailed analysis including trends, segmentation, and performance tracking
  • Translate complex datasets into clear, actionable insights
  • Develop dashboards and automated reporting tools for decision makers
  • Support leadership with data driven recommendations for growth and efficiency

Monitoring Evaluation and Learning

  • Develop and improve monitoring frameworks across programs
  • Track key performance indicators and align them with organizational goals
  • Produce reports for internal stakeholders and donors
  • Share lessons learned and promote continuous improvement

Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with program teams, marketing units, and leadership
  • Standardize reporting tools and metrics across departments
  • Train staff on data literacy and dashboard interpretation
  • Promote a culture where decisions rely on data and evidence

Qualifications and Experience

To qualify for this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Public Health, or a related field
  • Master’s degree in Data Analytics or Public Health will be an advantage
  • Professional certifications in Power BI, SQL, or Advanced Excel

In addition, candidates should bring strong experience in analytics and performance management.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of seven to ten years in data analytics, business intelligence, or monitoring and evaluation
  • Proven experience in dashboard development and performance analysis
  • Background in health, NGO, or development sector will provide added advantage

Key Skills and Competencies

Successful candidates should demonstrate strong technical and interpersonal abilities:

  • Advanced skills in Power BI, Excel, SQL, and visualization tools
  • Strong understanding of data modelling and system integration
  • Ability to convert data into practical business insights
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong problem solving mindset with attention to detail
