Job Summary
We currently seek a Procurement Coordinator to join our team. This position places you at the heart of our procurement function, where you will manage and carry out procurement activities across a wide range of categories for all internal departments. You will serve as the Business Engagement Leader (BEL) with key stakeholders, ensuring procurement annual plans and targets align with business goals. Your expertise will directly influence our ability to source goods and services efficiently and cost effectively.
Your Core Responsibilities
- Ensure the business has timely supply of goods and services, conducting sourcing activities efficiently and ensuring Puma’s expenditure is spent wisely across the country.
- Apply Puma Energy’s Procurement processes, ensuring all necessary controls, approvals, and reporting are carried out in the country.
- Develop Procurement plans relevant to each budget holder, supporting category managers to include sourcing strategies focused on the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) concept.
- Work with regional and global procurement category managers to ensure all procurement activities including requisition management, purchase order creation, tenders and negotiation, expediting supply, and benchmarking meet business requirements.
- Manage Contracts and maintain an efficient vendor base across the country, actively driving suppliers to perform more efficiently for Puma.
- Maintain proper control on privileged information and manage documentation in approved systems and physical locations, keeping accurate timeliness on agreement expirations and negotiation periods.
- Conduct Industry and market research to identify best opportunities for the business, supporting business case creation and cost benefit analyses.
- Participate in the coordination of special projects or any other related special tasks as assigned by the department manager.
- Bring expertise in managing automation of procurement activities, handling high volumes of transactions in the country.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders and vendors for all procurement activities at the country level.
Qualifications and Experience Required
To succeed in this role, you must bring a combination of academic qualifications, professional experience, and personal attributes. Specifically, we require:
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in Procurement, with 2 to 3 years in a management role and or 2 to 3 years in operations or sourcing and supply chain roles.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong technical base ideally in the Oil and Gas industry in mid stream and or multi site retailing across multiple geographies.
- Procurement Expertise: Proficiency in the Procure to Pay Process and procedures, with ability to accurately manage high levels of data.
- Business Acumen: Capability to understand business and marketing strategies.
- Supplier Management: Proficiency in developing supplier ways of working and contract management at the local level.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Experience in developing mutual relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Team Collaboration: Demonstrated team player and problem solver with ability to manage people in a complex, changing environment.
- Project Management: Using project management disciplines to structure and deliver outstanding results.
- Technical Skills: Extensive computer skills; MRP and ERP experience is a plus.
