The International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) invites international students and recent graduates to apply for its 2026 Internship Programme. This prestigious opportunity provides hands-on experience in international police cooperation and the daily operations of a global organization. The internship typically runs from 6 to 11 months, depending on the hiring service’s requirements.
Internship Benefits
Selected interns receive a comprehensive financial package.
- The programme provides a monthly allowance of EUR 700, a transport subsidy of EUR 30 per month, and an additional housing subsidy of EUR 170 for eligible interns.
- Interns must maintain health insurance coverage throughout the placement, but they may request enrolment in the Organization’s health insurance at no additional cost.
- INTERPOL also provides the necessary documents for visa applications, though interns must cover their own recruitment, travel, insurance, accommodation, and living expenses.

INTERPOL offers internships across both policing and support services, primarily at its headquarters in Lyon, France, with some positions available at other duty stations such as Singapore. Available opportunities span diverse fields including security, international police cooperation, communications, strategic planning, human resources, administration, legal affairs, analysis, internal audit, and AI operations. Recent vacancies include internships in Institutional Affairs, Talent Management, Internal Audit, AI Ops, Communications, and the Innovation Centre.
Eligibility Requirements
- Applicants must be nationals of one of INTERPOL’s 196 member countries and have attained the legal age of majority in their country of nationality.
- They must be enrolled in or have graduated from a post-secondary accredited academic institution within the past six months to one year, depending on the vacancy.
- Professional fluency in English is mandatory, while knowledge of French, Spanish, or Arabic is considered a strong asset.
- Selected applicants must pass a confidentiality vetting inquiry and may need to provide a certificate of non-criminal records from their country of nationality and any other country where they have resided for more than 12 months in the past five years.
