The Schwarzman Scholars Programme at Tsinghua University is a highly selective, fully funded scholarship programme for outstanding young leaders from around the world. About Tsinghua University Schwarzman Scholars Programme

Schwarzman Scholars at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China, one of China’s most prestigious colleges, allow selected students to earn a one-year master’s degree in global affairs.

The programme brings together outstanding students from around the world and different walks of life to explore the pressing issues facing the world today and to acquire the skillset to manage difficult challenges in the fields of business, government, international relations, and public policy.

Who is eligible for Schwarzman Scholars?

The programme is open to all nationalities. However, candidates must meet some academic, age, and English-language requirements.

1. Requirement of Undergraduate Degree

• Applicants must hold a recognised undergraduate or first degree from a college or university or its equivalent. Students currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree programme are encouraged to apply, provided they are on track to complete all degree requirements by August 1 of the Schwarzman Scholars enrolment year.

2. Age Requirements

Applicants should be:

• At least 18 years of age and younger than 29 years of age on August 1 of their enrolment year.

3. English proficiency

Teaching is performed in English, so applicants must have outstanding English-language skills unless they qualify for an exemption.

The approved tests are:

• TOEFL iBT-100
• IELTS Test – 7.0

Cambridge English:

Applicants may submit one of the following:

• Cambridge English Advanced (C1) with a score of 185 or above, or Cambridge English Proficiency (C2) with a score of 180 or above, are acceptable qualifications. or Cambridge English Proficiency (C2) with a score

3. Travel to and from Beijing

• At the beginning and end of the school year, the scholars receive funding to travel to and from Beijing.
