POSITION: Chief Executive Officer

Job Summary
We currently seek a dynamic and results oriented Chief Executive Officer to lead our institute. This position places you at the helm of our strategic and operational activities, where you will coordinate strategic planning, manage finances, develop HR policies, enhance visibility, and drive membership growth. Your leadership will directly influence our ability to achieve our mission and position CIHRM as a leader in the HR profession.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the development of the institute’s strategic plan and develop short and medium term strategies to achieve the deliverables of the strategic plan.
- Supervise the effective management of the institute’s finances and implement strategies to optimise existing revenue streams while creating new ones.
- Provide direction in the formulation and implementation of human resource policies, procedures, and programmes to guide effective management of the institute’s human capital.
- Work closely with HR, Finance, Audit, and other committees of council to develop and implement governance and compliance systems and structures to mitigate risks.
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance the institute’s visibility and membership drive.
- Provide overall supervision and marketing of the institute’s professional certification programme (PCP), continuing professional development (CPD), consultancy, and research services and products.
- Represent CIHRM at local, regional, and international forums, building strategic partnerships and enhancing the institute’s reputation.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulatory requirements, safeguarding the institute’s integrity and standing.
- Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement across all institute activities.
Qualification and Experience
To succeed in this role, you must bring a combination of academic qualifications, professional experience, and leadership competencies. Specifically, we require:
- Educational Qualification: Minimum of a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management or a related qualification from a reputable university.
- Professional Qualification: Minimum of a Chartered Member of the institute or equivalent professional qualification.
- Experience: Not less than 15 years of post qualification relevant work experience, with a proven track record of HR accomplishments in a C Suite or senior management position in industry or academia.
- PhD Advantage: A PhD degree will be an added advantage.

- People Management: Good understanding of people management principles and practices.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of relevant labour laws and the regulatory environment.
- Financial Management: Proficiency in financial management and marketing.
- Programme Execution: Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute work programmes and plans.
- Technology Leverage: Ability to leverage modern technology to drive operational excellence.
