Kohli Fellowship for Sociology 2026/28: Fully Funded Postdoctoral Research

Applications are open for the Kohli Fellowship for Sociology. The Kohli Foundation supports outstanding early-career sociologists worldwide. Fellows spend two years conducting research in Europe. Placements are available at WZB Berlin or the EUI Florence. This opportunity strengthens publications, networks, and academic careers. Scholars of all nationalities may apply for this fellowship. Only one fellow is selected annually.

• Duration: Two years, full-time research
• Monthly Stipend: Approximately €2,500 (subject to revision)

Who Can Apply

Companion Program: Connect Funding

The Kohli Foundation also runs Connect, a separate event-funding program. It supports academic schools, mentoring events, and workshops. Unlike the fellowship, Connect accepts applications on a rolling basis. Funding continues until the foundation’s annual budget is exhausted.
