POSITION: Telecom Power Engineer

Job Summary

We currently seek a Telecom Power Engineer to join our team. This position places you at the heart of our power operations, where you will supervise and audit power vendors, carry out preventive and corrective actions, and ensure compliance with service level agreements. Your work will directly influence our ability to deliver reliable telecommunications services and maintain high standards of operational performance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the required Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators within the service schedules in your zone.
• Audit work carried out by Power Vendors directly, striving for continuous improvement and quality assurance.
• Assist in delivering required project activities for partners within forecast cost parameters in the zone.
• Lead and drive continual improvement initiatives and associated actions, with accountability for delivering cost benefits.
• Manage the retained Operations delivery team in the zone, ensuring Health and Safety compliance across the board.
• Manage power requirements and demands of retained exchanges within the zone.
• Promote compliance actively with the Organisation’s codes of practice and any undertakings.
• Provide technical expertise in troubleshooting and resolving power related issues.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure seamless power operations and project execution.

What We Are Looking For

To succeed in this role, you must bring a combination of academic qualifications, professional experience, and personal attributes. Specifically, we require:

Minimum Qualification

• Degree or HND in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
• 4 to 6 years of working experience in the Telecom Power sector.
• Detailed knowledge of Telecommunication services, operational Key Performance Indicators, and processes.
• In depth understanding of the relationship between operations and customer experiences.
• Knowledge of engineering and quality standards with high level of troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
• Excellent skills in MS Office and Data analytics.

Person Specific

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills.
• An auditor’s eye for detail and quality assurance.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills with excellent stakeholder management.
• Exposure to a multicultural working environment.
