About the Role

OYEA supports three interconnected levels of youth-focused work citywide. This includes youth programming spaces, adult youth workers, and young people directly. Fellows regularly collaborate with city agencies, schools, and community organizations. They also support direct youth engagement through outreach, focus groups, and events.

What the Fellow Will Do

Daily responsibilities include overseeing project timelines and required deliverables carefully. The fellow maintains organized project files and shared documentation throughout. Building relationships with external stakeholders remains a core ongoing responsibility. Additionally, fellows assist with budgets, procurement, and logistical event support. Some evening and weekend availability is required given youth programming schedules. Off-site travel across Boston neighborhoods is also an expected part of this role.

Who Can Apply

Candidates need at least two years of relevant professional experience. A bachelor’s degree may substitute for this experience requirement instead. Bilingual candidates are preferred, given the office’s diverse community engagement. Strong organizational skills and genuine interest in youth services matter greatly.
