EMA Traineeship Programme 2026 in Netherlands (Fully Funded)

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) invites recent graduates and students to apply for its 2026 Traineeship Programme in Amsterdam. This fully funded opportunity offers hands-on experience across diverse fields including medicine regulation, life sciences, IT, pharmaceutical law, human resources, finance, and communications. The programme runs for ten months, with the October 2026 intake starting on 1 October 2026 and ending on 31 July 2027.

What the Programme Offers

Selected trainees receive comprehensive support throughout their placement. The programme provides a monthly stipend of €2,049.77 net for full-time trainees. Additionally, you receive a travel contribution upon joining the Agency and benefit from 20 days of paid leave during the traineeship. The role offers up to two days of remote work per week, providing flexibility while working at EMA’s premises in Amsterdam.

Beyond financial support, trainees gain professional mentorship and career guidance. A dedicated mentor helps establish individual learning goals and monitors your progress throughout the programme. You also join a development programme including workshops, meetings, and Agency-wide competency development opportunities. Trainees become part of a community and network of trainees from all over the European Union.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet specific criteria for consideration. You must be a national of an EU Member State, Iceland, Liechtenstein, or Norway. Additionally, you need a university degree obtained between 6 May 2025 and 6 May 2026, or be enrolled as an Erasmus+ student, PhD student, or Master’s student with a previous fully completed degree.

Fluency in English is mandatory (minimum C1 level), along with a good knowledge of another official EU language (minimum B2 level). You should demonstrate an open-minded approach to multicultural environments, interest in learning about the Agency’s work, and a proactive attitude.

How to Apply

Submit your application online through the EMA Careers portal. Search for current traineeship vacancies, select the opportunity matching your interests, and complete the application form. EMA cannot accept late applications, so submit before the deadline to secure this opportunity. The agency expects to open new vacancies in August 2026 for traineeships starting in March 2027.
