POSITION: Fibre Optic Technician

Your Mission: Connect Customers to High Speed Internet

You will install fibre optic cables using aerial, underground, and direct burial methods. Your work will span splicing, testing, troubleshooting, and connecting customers to our fibre network. Additionally, you will conduct site surveys, collaborate with other teams, and ensure every project meets our quality standards. Your technical expertise and problem solving skills will keep Ghana connected.

Key Responsibilities

Your role encompasses installation, testing, collaboration, and safety compliance. Here is what you will tackle:

Installation & Deployment

• You will install fibre optic cables using aerial, underground, and direct burial methods. Each technique requires precision and care.
• Connecting customers to our fibre network ensures reliable, fast internet services that transform how they live and work.

Splicing, Testing & Troubleshooting

• You will perform fibre optic splicing, joining cables with accuracy to maintain signal strength.
• Testing and troubleshooting fibre optic networks identifies issues before they affect customers.
• Excellent problem solving skills allow you to diagnose and resolve faults quickly.

Site Surveys & Feasibility Studies

• You will conduct site surveys and feasibility studies, determining the best routes for fibre deployment.
• Assessing terrain, existing infrastructure, and potential obstacles informs your installation strategy.

Collaboration & Quality Assurance

• You will collaborate with other teams to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.
• Clear communication and teamwork keep projects on track and customers satisfied.

What You Bring to the Role

We are looking for candidates with the right experience, technical knowledge, and physical capabilities. Here is what you need:

Experience

• One year of experience in fibre optic deployment, installation, or maintenance.
• FTTH deployment experience gives you a distinct advantage.

Education & Certifications

• A minimum of a Certificate or Diploma in Fibre Optic Technology, Electrical & Electronics, or Computer Science.
• Relevant certifications demonstrate your commitment to the craft.

Technical Knowledge

• A strong understanding of fibre optic technology and network architecture.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations keeps you and your team safe.

Physical & Practical Requirements

• Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in various weather conditions.
• Must have the ability to drive a manual vehicle.
• Willingness to travel to different job sites across the country.
