Job Summary

We currently seek a PTP Specialist to join our team in Accra, Ghana. This position places you at the heart of our financial operations, where you will develop and administer Accounts Payable (AP) plans and objectives. You will ensure the end to end handling of incoming invoices from receipt to payment preparation, contributing to smooth financial processes and strong vendor relationships.

Responsibilities

• Develop and administer Accounts Payable (AP) plans and objectives according to defined guidelines and processes, ensuring seamless end to end handling of incoming invoices.
• Deliver assigned AP processes and activities such as timely payment of vendor invoices and expense vouchers, reconciling outstanding account balances, and maintaining accurate records and control reports.
• Achieve service delivery for your assigned area in line with required standards, targets, and schedules including service level agreements and internal customer expectations.
• Guide other team members to resolve day to day issues in service delivery, fostering a collaborative and high performing environment.
• Analyze and resolve financial accounting or technical issues such as overdue data, billing disputes, problems with data quality, or reconciliations.
• Study issues and recommend proposals for service improvements to deliver higher quality and/or lower cost.
• Conduct detailed financial analysis of operating results and proposed activities covering Accounts Payable to aid management decision making.
• Connect with and influence other specialist departments and third parties such as external service providers, building strong partnerships.
• Build strong, trusting cross-functional relationships with DHL managers and stakeholders.
• Understand customer and key stakeholder interests and concerns and advise direct reports, customers, and key stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance to line managers and employees.
• Coach and review the work of lower level professionals, contributing to team development.

Required Qualifications and Experience

To succeed in this role, you must bring a combination of academic qualifications, professional experience, and personal attributes. Specifically, we require:

• Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Experience Level: More than 4 years of experience in Accounts Payable, Finance, or a similar role.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, financial analysis, and reconciliation.
• Problem Solving: Ability to analyse and resolve financial and technical issues effectively.
• Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
• Leadership: Capacity to guide and coach team members and influence others.
• Customer Focus: Understanding of customer and stakeholder needs and commitment to service excellence.
