Job Summary

We currently seek a qualified Optometrist to join our eye care team. This position places you at the forefront of patient care, where you will conduct comprehensive eye examinations, diagnose vision problems and eye conditions, and provide appropriate treatment or referral to ensure optimal eye health for patients. Your expertise will directly influence patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations, including refraction and visual acuity tests, ensuring accurate assessment of patient vision.
• Diagnose vision problems, eye diseases, and abnormalities, identifying conditions early and providing appropriate interventions.
• Prescribe corrective lenses, contact lenses, and low vision aids, tailoring solutions to meet individual patient needs.
• Detect signs of eye diseases and refer patients for specialist or surgical care where necessary, ensuring timely and effective treatment.
• Educate patients on eye health, hygiene, and preventive care, empowering them to maintain optimal vision.
• Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation, ensuring data integrity and continuity of care.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of optometric equipment, upholding quality and safety standards.
• Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and professional standards, demonstrating commitment to excellence and patient safety.

Qualification and Experience Required

To succeed in this role, you must bring a combination of academic qualifications, professional experience, and personal attributes. Specifically, we require:

• Educational Qualification: Degree in Optometry from a recognised institution.
• Licensing: Valid professional license or registration.
• Experience: 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in optometric practice.
• Skills and Competencies: Good communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with patients and colleagues.
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail for accurate diagnoses and prescriptions.
• Teamwork: Team player with a professional attitude, committed to collaborative patient care.
