Study in Netherlands: University of Twente Scholarships in 2027

The University of Twente Scholarship (UTS) is a wonderful opportunity for international students to get funding to study for a master’s degree starting in September 2027. The scholarship is for €3,000 to €22,000 for one academic year and is a very attractive financial option. However, interested candidates should read this guide to the end to enable them to have a successful application.

Eligible Programs for the University of Twente Scholarship 2027

This scholarship can be applied for only to approved master’s programmes at the University of Twente.

Exclusions are;

• Undergraduate Courses and Short Courses
• Pre-Master’s programmes
• Master’s degrees at the Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation
• Applicants should ensure that their chosen MSc programme is eligible before preparing their applications.

Requirements for University of Twente Scholarships 2027

The University of Twente Scholarship is for brilliant students, typically in the top 5% to 10% of their graduating class.

You must be:

• A citizen of a non-EU/EEA country.
• Applying for qualifying master’s programmes commencing September 2027
• Full or provisional admission to UT
• Obtain an admission at the University of Twente.
• You must not have previously graduated from any programmes at the University of Twente.
• You are not currently an active student at the University of Twente.
• Do not qualify for Dutch study loans.
• Meet the Dutch visa requirements
• Proficiency in the English language

Who cannot apply for the University of Twente Scholarship:

• EU/EEA and Dutch students
• Students of the University of Twente (current)
• Applicants for Pre-Master or ITC Faculty
• Students eligible for statutory tuition fees
• Those who cannot afford the remaining expenditures after the scholarship.

The University of Twente scholarship cannot be given to non-EU/EEA students with Dutch residence permits that qualify for statutory fees. If a beneficiary thereafter qualifies for statutory fees, the scholarship shall be cancelled with immediate effect.

Benefits of University of Twente Scholarships 2027

The University of Twente Scholarship is a contribution toward study-related costs, not full funding. Students chosen must pick how to spend the money, but it doesn’t automatically go toward tuition, rent, visa fees, or living expenses. Applicants who cannot afford the remaining charges should not apply.

Students in a two-year master’s course may be considered for a second University of Twente scholarship of the same value as the first-year award.

University of Twente Scholarship recipients can also apply for the Kipaji Scholarship for programmes starting in September 2027. Students must apply to the University of Twente Scholarship first and express their Kipaji interest in the motivation section.

How to apply for the University of Twente Scholarship in 2027?

Applicants must apply to the University of Twente Scholarship only after receiving a GTE letter. They must apply for the master’s programme and receive a conditional/provisional acceptance letter. Only then can they apply using their student number.
