Applications are open for the ICCROM Fellowship Programme 2027. ICCROM invites senior heritage professionals to pursue focused research in Rome. The programme fosters fresh perspectives and cross-border exchange in conservation work. ICCROM currently offers no financial support for this fellowship.

About ICCROM Fellowships

ICCROM runs this programme to enrich global heritage conservation practice. Fellows gain direct access to one of the field’s largest libraries. They also exchange ideas with staff and visiting heritage professionals worldwide. The experience builds new international relationships and research insight.

What Fellows Receive

Fellows get dedicated office space and a computer workstation. They also receive unlimited internet access plus full library and archive privileges. However, ICCROM provides no stipend, travel funding, or insurance coverage. Fellows must independently arrange their own accommodation, travel, and medical insurance.

Who Can Apply

Applicants need a master’s degree or higher in a heritage-related field. Candidates must show at least ten years of relevant professional experience. Strong English or French skills are required, since these are ICCROM’s official languages. Only nationals of, or professionals working within, ICCROM Member States qualify.

Required Materials

Applicants submit an up-to-date CV through ICCROM’s online application form. Employer confirmation of support, where applicable, must also be included. Three reference letters from people familiar with the applicant’s work are required.
