About the Fellowship
This program builds Stanford’s future PhD and faculty pipeline directly. Fellows join active research alongside professors, postdocs, and PhD students. The Dedicated Track suits candidates wanting deep focus on one area. A Standard Track instead rotates fellows across projects each quarter.
What Fellows Receive
Fellows receive a $59,500 annual stipend throughout the two-year term. Tuition is covered for one class per quarter, faculty permitting. Health insurance and on-campus housing eligibility are also included. Fellows gain genuine mentorship from leading Stanford faculty members.
Who Can Apply
Applicants need a bachelor’s degree and strong quantitative or research skills. Prior subject-specific experience isn’t always required, depending on the project. Programming skills in Stata, Python, or R strengthen many applications. Women and underrepresented candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
Required Materials
Applicants review available projects, then select up to three of interest. The application should connect academic background with each chosen project. Full application requirements appear on Stanford’s official application page.
How to Apply
Applications open September 3; submit through Stanford GSB’s official portal.
