Requirements for American University Emerging Global Leader Scholarship

1. Be an International Student

• The AU Emerging Global Leader Scholarship is open to international students who require a non-immigrant student visa (F-1 or J-1 visa preferred) to study in the United States.

2. Prove Academic Excellence

• Interested applicants should have a minimum GPA of 3.8 on a 4.0 scale or be in the top 10% of the graduating class for grades 9-12.

3. Be a current high school student

• Students currently enrolled in secondary/high school and graduating in June 2027 will receive preference for the 2027 intake.

5. Satisfy the English language requirement

• Applicants need to provide evidence of an appropriate level of English language proficiency.

Benefits of American University Emerging Global Leader Scholarship

1. Full Tuition Coverage

• The scholarship pays all American University chargeable costs, including full tuition for undergraduates.

• The scholarship also includes accommodation and board.

3. Four-Year Renewable

• The scholarship is renewable for up to four years of undergraduate study, providing the recipient maintains excellent academic achievement.

4. Partial Scholarships

• In addition to the two full AU EGL scholarships, American University offers up to eight AU EGL partial scholarships valued up to US$40,000 per year.
• Partial AU EGL prizes are not awarded through a separate application process. Candidates who meet the AU EGLS process may also be eligible for these partial prizes.
