The Cloneshouse Foundation invites young professionals from West Africa to apply for its 2027 Internship Programme, a practical learning initiative designed to equip participants with hands-on experience in Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL), Business Development, Evidence Generation, and Impact Technology. Delivered in collaboration with Cloneshouse LLC, a specialised MEL firm, this programme bridges theory and practice through real assignments, technical mentorship, and professional workflows.

What the Programme Offers

Selected interns gain exposure to real projects while developing skills essential for careers in development practice, research, and evidence-informed decision-making. The programme provides:

• Hands-on experience with live MEL assignments and professional workflows
• Technical mentorship from experienced practitioners
• Per diems and travel expenses covered for project-related travel
• Stipends may be available depending on specific projects
• A learning ecosystem that strengthens local capacity and builds a pipeline of emerging development professionals

The internship operates officially as an unpaid opportunity but may function as a paid apprenticeship when project funding permits. Cloneshouse emphasizes ethical grounding, practical competencies, and preparation for meaningful contributions to accountability and sustainable development.

Eligibility Requirements

The programme welcomes applications from young and emerging professionals in sixteen West African countries: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cabo Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, and Togo.

Ideal candidates demonstrate:

• Curiosity, diligence, and a goal-oriented mindset
• Willingness to learn and invest time in developing both theoretical knowledge and practical skills
• Genuine interest in evaluation, evidence, development practice, research, learning, or technology
• Commitment to active participation throughout the internship

Applicants do not need to begin as M&E experts. Cloneshouse seeks individuals prepared to grow and contribute meaningfully.

Expanded Opportunities for 2027

Cloneshouse has progressively increased intake capacity, starting with two interns per cohort and expanding to four, then eight. For the 2027 cohort, the organisation aims to welcome fifteen interns in total from across the eligible West African nations. This expansion reflects growing demand and the programme’s success in developing local talent.
