About the Fellowship

CFJ builds a growing network of African gender justice lawyers. Fellows embed directly within a host human rights organization. Each fellow pursues at least one major strategic litigation case. The programme also connects fellows to a lasting alumni network.

What Fellows Receive

Fellows earn a $25,000 annual salary through their host organization. Mentorship comes from CFJ leadership and regional human rights experts. Fellows attend one in-person convening plus monthly online training. International relocation and work authorization costs are not covered.

Who Can Apply

Applicants need a law degree and admission to practice locally. Candidates should have up to five years of post-qualification experience. Applicants must already hold the right to work in their host country. Women’s rights or human rights experience is strongly preferred.
