POSITION: Sonographer

MSI Ghana invites applications from qualified, experienced, and client focused professionals for the position of Sonographer. Job Summary

The Sonographer provides essential diagnostic imaging services that guide clinical decision making and improve patient outcomes. Consequently, you will operate within a supportive environment that values professional growth and recognises outstanding contributions. Furthermore, you will report directly to the Centre Manager while collaborating closely with clinicians and healthcare teams.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Service Delivery:

• Perform obstetric, gynecological, abdominal, and other ultrasound examinations as required
• Produce accurate and timely ultrasound reports supporting clinical diagnosis and treatment decisions
• Prepare and position clients appropriately before ultrasound procedures
• Ensure high standards of client care, privacy, dignity, and confidentiality throughout all procedures
• Collaborate effectively with clinicians and healthcare staff to support quality service delivery

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with MSIG clinical protocols and infection prevention and control standards
• Conduct routine checks and basic maintenance of ultrasound equipment
• Report equipment faults promptly to appropriate authorities
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of all ultrasound procedures
• Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives within the centre

Equipment and Operational Support:

• Ensure proper handling and effective utilisation of ultrasound equipment and accessories
• Monitor availability of consumables and supplies required for ultrasound services
• Report shortages promptly to maintain seamless service delivery
• Support efficient scheduling and coordination of ultrasound appointments

Client Care and Collaboration:

• Provide clear explanations and reassurance to clients regarding ultrasound procedures
• Maintain professionalism and compassionate client interaction at all times
• Promote client centred care while upholding MSIG values and safeguarding standards
• Work collaboratively with the centre team to support smooth clinical operations

Qualifications and Experience

Educational Background:

• Degree or Diploma in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field
• Registered with the Allied Health Professions Council of Ghana and in good standing

Experience Criteria:

• Minimum three years of relevant working experience in a reputable health facility
• Strong knowledge and practical experience in obstetric and gynecological ultrasound procedures
• Computer literate with good reporting and documentation skills

• Expertise in performing diverse ultrasound examinations
• Strong understanding of clinical protocols and quality standards
• Proficiency in documentation and reporting requirements
