Study in the UK: King’s Commonwealth Undergraduate Fellowship 2027 (Fully Funded)

Applications are now open for the King’s Commonwealth Undergraduate Fellowship Program (KCFP) 2027, an opportunity to help bright young people from qualified Commonwealth Small Island Developing States (SIDS) undertake undergraduate education in their nation or area.

The programme offers a comprehensive financial package, covering full tuition fees and a stipend to meet basic living expenses and, if applicable, one return ticket to the scholar’s home island for each year of study.

The King’s Commonwealth Fellowship Program aims to enhance higher education and professional capabilities in the participating island communities. Fellows may study at KCFP-approved host universities in their home country or, when there is no eligible host school in their nation, in their immediate region.

The goal of this scholarship programme is to build the skills, knowledge and leadership abilities that will enable us to strengthen communities, provide key services and promote sustainable development. Its priority areas are education, engineering, health and sustainable tourism.

Educational History

Graduates in engineering can contribute to infrastructure, construction, technology, energy, water, and other critical development projects.

Health and well-being

Health-related programmes can assist participating countries in developing the professional workforce needed to improve healthcare delivery and public health services.

Sustainable Tourism

Tourism is a significant element of the economy for many island nations. Training in sustainable tourism can help promote tourism sectors and support environmental and community sustainability.

Requirements for King’s Commonwealth Undergraduate Fellowship

1. Be a citizen or refugee of an eligible Commonwealth Small Island Developing State (SIDS).

Applicants must be citizens or holders of refugee status of one of the participating Commonwealth Small Island Developing States, as indicated by the programme.

2. Begin Undergraduate Study in 2027

Applicants should be beginning their undergraduate studies between January and December 2027. This grant is for students commencing an eligible undergraduate programme in the 2027 calendar year.

3. Do Not Already Hold a Higher Education Qualification

Applicants should not already have a higher education qualification.

This includes:

Bachelor’s degrees
Postgraduate qualifications
Other higher education qualifications

4. Select an Approved Undergraduate Programme

Applicants are required to choose an undergraduate programme from the allowed programmes listed for their selected KCFP host university.
Students should therefore check the available programmes in their country before applying.

5. Study at an Approved Host University

Students must study at a host university that is approved by the KCFP and located in the student’s native country.
If there is no approved host university in the applicant’s home country, the applicant might study at another approved KCFP host university in that region.

6. Meet the University Admission Requirements

You also need to meet the entry requirements of the undergraduate programme you have chosen. This is crucial because the fellowship application is an entirely different process from university acceptance.
Students will need to apply separately for admission to their chosen KCFP host university.

Benefits of King’s Commonwealth Undergraduate Fellowship
