Eligible Programmes for University of Pittsburgh Heinz Fellowship

1. Graduate School of Public Health

  • First, fellowship candidates must be admitted to an approved master’s programme in the Graduate School of Public Health (GSPH). This option is of interest to individuals working in public health policy, health systems, population health, and related fields.

2. Graduate School of Public and International Affairs

The Graduate School of Public and International Affairs (GSPIA) is also eligible.

3. School of Law

  • Applications from admitted students in an approved master’s programme in the School of Law may also be considered.

4. Education

  • Eligible master’s students in the School of Education are also welcome to apply for the fellowship.

5. School of Nursing

  • Candidates enrolled in an appropriate master’s programme at the School of Nursing may also be eligible for the fellowship.

Requirements for the University of Pittsburgh Heinz Fellowship in 2027

1. Admission to an Eligible Master’s Programme

  • Firstly, Heinz Fellows must be enrolled in a master’s programme that begins in the academic year for which they are applying for the Heinz Fellowship.

The master’s programme must be completed in one of the University of Pittsburgh qualifying schools:

  1. To begin with, the Graduate School of Public Health
  2. Followed by the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs
  3. Then, School of Law
  4. Also, School of Education
  5. School of Nursing

2. Undergraduate Degree

  • Secondly, applicants must hold an undergraduate university degree. The undergraduate qualification must meet the entry requirements for the selected master’s programme.

3. English Language Proficiency

  • Thirdly, applicants must be able to read, speak, and write English. Candidates must also meet any English language requirements for their selected master’s programme.
