Job Summary

We currently seek a qualified and experienced Accountant to join our team in Accra. This position places you at the heart of our financial operations, where you will prepare financial statements, manage budgets, ensure tax compliance, and provide analytical support for decision making. Your expertise will directly influence our financial stability, regulatory standing, and strategic growth.

Your Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records systematically, ensuring all transactions are properly documented and reconciled.
• Produce timely financial reports and statements for management review, supporting informed decision making.
• Develop and monitor budgets effectively, analysing variances and recommending corrective actions where needed.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory requirements, preparing and filing returns accurately and on time.
• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Reconcile bank statements, accounts, and ledgers regularly, resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations as required.
• Maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support operational efficiency.
• Stay updated on accounting standards and industry best practices, applying them consistently.

What We Are Looking For

To succeed in this role, you must bring a combination of academic qualifications, professional experience, and personal attributes. Specifically, we require:

• Professional Qualification: Qualified Chartered Accountant in good standing.
• Experience: 4 to 8 years of relevant experience in accounting or financial management.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and taxation.
• Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities.
• Software Proficiency: Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Personal Qualities: High level of integrity and attention to detail.
• Industry Experience: Prior experience with an Oil Marketing Company (OMC) provides a distinct advantage.
• Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills for engaging with colleagues and stakeholders.
