POSITION: Partnership & Advocacy Lead

MSI Ghana is seeking a Partnership & Advocacy Lead to join our team. If you bring 8 to 10 years of experience in advocacy, partnerships, or external relations, with at least 3 to 5 years in a senior leadership role, this position offers the perfect platform to shape national policy, strengthen strategic alliances, and advance SRHR for underserved communities.

As Partnership & Advocacy Lead, you will join a values driven team dedicated to reaching the underserved and expanding equitable access to Family Planning and other SRH services.

Your Mission

You will take responsibility for strengthening MSIG’s external engagement, strategic partnerships, and advocacy positioning at national and sub national levels. Your focus will span building high value relationships, influencing policy, engaging media, and supporting resource mobilization. Your ability to operate effectively in complex political and institutional environments will determine your success.

Key Responsibilities

Your role spans strategic partnerships, advocacy, media engagement, resource mobilization, and leadership. Here is what you will tackle:

Strategic Partnerships Leadership

  • You will lead the development and execution of MSIG’s partnerships strategy across public, private, and development sectors.
  • Identifying, cultivating, and managing high value strategic partnerships advances MSIG’s SRH and organizational goals.
  • Leading high level negotiations and partnership agreements supports programme scale and sustainability.
  • Strengthening institutional relationships with government, donors, and implementing partners builds lasting alliances.

Advocacy & Policy Influence

  • You will lead MSIG’s national and sub national advocacy agenda on SRHR and related health priorities.
  • Engaging policymakers and technical working groups influences SRHR policies and frameworks.
  • Developing and overseeing advocacy strategies, policy briefs, and position papers positions MSIG as a thought leader.
  • Representing MSIG in high level policy dialogues, forums, and sector engagements amplifies our voice.

Media & Public Engagement

  • You will provide strategic direction for media engagement and public communications on SRHR issues.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with journalists, media houses, and communication platforms ensures positive coverage.
  • Overseeing the development of key messaging, campaigns, and public facing advocacy content shapes public discourse.
  • Strengthening MSIG’s visibility and thought leadership in the SRH space builds trust and credibility.

Resource Mobilization & External Influence

  • You will support resource mobilization through strategic partnerships and external engagement.
  • Identifying funding and collaboration opportunities aligned with MSIG priorities expands our reach.
  • Contributing to positioning MSIG for strategic partnerships and consortium opportunities secures our future.

Leadership & Representation

  • You will represent MSIG at national, regional, and international platforms and conferences.
  • Providing leadership on cross functional advocacy and partnership initiatives aligns efforts across teams.
  • Working closely with senior leadership to align advocacy priorities with organizational strategy ensures cohesion.

What You Bring to the Role

We are looking for a candidate with the right qualifications, experience, skills, and personal attributes. Here is what you need:

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Public Health, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • A strong background in journalism, media, strategic communications, or public affairs is highly desirable.
  • A Master’s degree in a relevant field gives you a distinct advantage.

Experience

  • A minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in advocacy, partnerships, communications, or external relations.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience engaging government, donors, and high level stakeholders.
  • A strong understanding of SRHR, public health, or development programming gives you an added advantage.

Key Details to Remember

  • Reporting Line: Director of Programs
  • Probation: 3 months
  • Contract: 1 year, renewable based on performance
  • Location: Ghana
