Job Duties

• Design and develop telecom networks, ensuring high performance, reliability, and operational security standards.
• Lead engineering designs while ensuring compliance with safety, technical, and regulatory requirements consistently.
• Prepare detailed engineering documentation, including drawings, calculations, and system implementation plans.
• Implement IP and MPLS network architectures supporting utility communications and mission-critical services.
• Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to meet project milestones and safety standards.
• Conduct engineering studies and technical investigations to resolve complex network and system challenges.
• Support installation, testing, and commissioning of telecom infrastructure across various project sites.
• Participate in field visits and assist in maintenance, upgrades, and emergency restoration activities.
• Ensure all engineering work aligns with industry standards and organizational best practices.

Job Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering from a recognized institution.
• Possess or actively pursue professional registration with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia.
• Demonstrate experience with telecom technologies such as fiber optics, microwave systems, or LTE networks.
• Show strong knowledge of IP/MPLS networking, including routing protocols and traffic engineering concepts.
• Exhibit excellent communication skills, including technical writing and verbal collaboration abilities.
• Work independently while effectively solving complex engineering problems with minimal supervision.
• Understand project management processes, including contract management and construction oversight practices.
• Hold a valid driver’s license to support site visits and fieldwork responsibilities when required.
