POSITION: HR Supervisor
Plantations Socfinaf Ghana (PSG) is seeking an HR Supervisor to join our Admin and HR department at our Daboase location in the Western Region. If you hold a degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial Organizational Psychology, or a related social science field, bring four years of post national service HR experience, and want to work for a company with over 2,000 employees, this role offers the perfect opportunity to apply your HR expertise in a fast paced, compliance driven environment.

As a wholly owned subsidiary of SOCFINAF SA of Luxembourg, we employ over 2,000 people and operate under rigorous standards including RSPO, ISO 14001:2015, and strict HSE protocols. As HR Supervisor, you will not simply process paperwork; you will support daily HR operations, ensure consistent application of policies, prepare appointment letters, confirmations, transfers, promotions, and terminations, manage payroll inputs, coordinate recruitment, conduct new hire orientation, and oversee the day to day operations of the company creche. Moreover, you will contribute to a positive, high performing work environment while complying with safety, environmental, and certification requirements.
Your Mission
Reporting to the Ag. Admin and HR Manager, you will take responsibility for executing HR functions that help achieve organizational goals. Your focus will span HR reporting, employee welfare, payroll inputs, creche management, recruitment, onboarding, training, and policy sensitization. Your ability to manage HRIS, apply knowledge of Ghana Labour Acts, and maintain confidentiality and emotional intelligence will determine your success.
Key Responsibilities
Your role spans HR execution, reporting, welfare, payroll, recruitment, orientation, training, and compliance. Here is what you will tackle:
HR Execution & Documentation
- You will assist the Admin and HR Manager in executing HR functions, ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Preparing appointment letters, confirmations, transfers, promotions, and terminations requires accuracy and timeliness.
Reporting & Payroll
- You will prepare all relevant HR reports including manning, staff movement, and leave accruals, keeping management informed.
- Ensuring all relevant monthly payroll deductions are made and submitting timely payroll inputs to the Accounts department prevents errors and delays.
Employee Welfare & Creche Management
- You will manage employee welfare benefits in line with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), supporting worker satisfaction.
- Overseeing the day to day operations of the company creche provides essential support to working parents.
Recruitment & Onboarding
- You will coordinate the recruitment and selection process in line with company policy, filling vacancies with suitable candidates.
- Liaising with the respective institution to register workers and obtain their SSNIT numbers ensures compliance.
- Coordinating all new hire orientation and training helps new employees integrate quickly and safely.
Training & Policy Sensitization
- You will conduct training and HR policy sensitizations for workers in line with the annual training calendar, building awareness and reducing violations.
RSPO, HSE & ISO Responsibilities
- You will comply with all applicable RSPO and ISO 14001:2015 requirements, including policies and plans.
- Contributing to a positive safety culture by complying with safety and environmental management procedures, security protocols, and emergency response measures protects yourself and colleagues.
- Being aware of the environmental policy, significant environmental aspects, and actual or potential environmental impacts associated with your work helps reduce harm.
- Working safely and ensuring environmental aspects including waste are managed properly is non negotiable.
- Taking personal responsibility for your safety and the safety of others by adhering to all workplace health, safety, and security requirements builds trust.
- Ensuring proper use of company provided PPE and exercising due care in performing your duties prevents accidents.
- Promptly reporting any injuries, near misses, unsafe conditions, or environmental incidents to your supervisor and helping identify and correct unsafe acts or behaviors keeps the workplace safe.
- Actively participating in toolbox meetings, required training, and cooperating during incident or hazard investigations demonstrates leadership.
What You Bring to the Role
We are looking for a candidate with the right education, experience, competencies, and personal attributes. Here is what you need:
Educational Qualification & Required Experience
- A degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial Organizational Psychology, or a related Social Science field.
- A professional qualification in Human Resource Management gives you a plus, but we do not require it.
- Four years of post national service qualification experience in Human Resource Management.
Technical Competencies
- Good knowledge of HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems) and the standard Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Working knowledge of the Ghana Labour Acts.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- General knowledge of HR policies and best practices.
Personality Competencies
- A high level of integrity and confidentiality, because you will handle sensitive employee information.
- Assertiveness, interpersonal, and diplomacy skills for navigating difficult conversations.
- A good level of Emotional Intelligence (EQ) skills for managing your own emotions and understanding others.
