Job Notice at Keda Ghana Ceramics Company Limited

POSITION: Business Manager

Keda Ghana Ceramics Company Limited is seeking a highly skilled Business Manager to serve as the strategic liaison for our new Glass Project in Takoradi. If you have deep knowledge of Ghanaian administrative processes, existing relationships with key agencies, and a talent for building trust across diverse groups, this role offers the opportunity to shape a transformative industrial venture.

Why Keda Ghana Ceramics Company Limited?

Keda Ghana Ceramics Company Limited stands as a leader in industrial manufacturing, driving growth and innovation within Ghana’s ceramics and glass sectors. Our new Glass Project represents a significant investment in local industry, promising jobs, infrastructure, and economic development. As Business Manager, you will not simply coordinate tasks; you will secure the social, legal, and operational foundations that make this project possible. Moreover, you will join a company committed to professional development, inclusive workplaces, and collaborative success.

Your Mission

You will take ownership of all external stakeholder relationships, including government agencies, traditional authorities, utility providers, and local communities. Your primary goal: ensure smooth infrastructure integration and full regulatory compliance. Your ability to negotiate, resolve disputes, and maintain trust will determine the project’s success.

Key Responsibilities

Your role spans land management, community engagement, utility negotiations, regulatory compliance, and security coordination. Here is what you will tackle:

Land & Community Relations

  • You will manage land transfer procedures for Stool Lands and private lands, liaising with the Lands Commission to ensure leasehold and title registration legality.
  • Building and maintaining high level relationships with the Traditional Council and local Chiefs requires ongoing respect and proactive communication.
  • Proactively resolving disputes regarding boundaries, compensation, or construction impact prevents delays and preserves goodwill.
  • Coordinating local labor requirements and managing community expectations mitigates risks of protests or disruptions during construction.
  • Securing and maintaining the social license to operate through ongoing community engagement keeps the project welcome in its host area.

Utility & Infrastructure Negotiations

  • You will lead negotiations and progress tracking with GRIDCo and ECG for high voltage grid connection, ensuring reliable power for operations.
  • Working with GWCL for industrial water supply guarantees access to this critical resource.
  • Securing gas sourcing and infrastructure by coordinating with GNPC and Ghana Gas includes overseeing gas station construction and negotiating price agreements.
  • Overseeing local contractors for site leveling and essential access road construction prepares the physical site for development.

Regulatory & Customs Compliance

  • You will manage registration with GIPC and apply for quotas to secure customs duty exemptions for imported machinery and equipment.
  • Coordinating clearance of large scale industrial equipment at Tema or Takoradi ports requires resolving disputes with GRA Customs regarding inspections and duty rates.
  • Leading the application process with GFZB to secure Free Zone status and relevant tax benefits optimizes the project’s financial framework.
  • Securing and renewing all necessary permits including EPA environmental clearance, GSA standards approval, GNFS fire service certification, and District Assembly building permits keeps operations compliant.

Security & Crisis Management

  • You will act as the primary point of contact for GIS Immigration and the Police Service, handling external inspections and maintaining a secure operating environment.
  • Managing crisis response and security coordination with relevant authorities protects people, assets, and reputation.

What You Bring to the Role

We are looking for a candidate with deep experience, established networks, and strong diplomatic skills. Here is what you need:

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of five years of professional experience in large scale industrial, manufacturing, or infrastructure projects within Ghana.
  • In depth knowledge of Ghanaian government administrative processes and the Land Act.
  • Proven, existing communication channels within Customs (GRA), Lands Commission, ECG or GRIDCo, or relevant energy sectors.
  • Full professional proficiency in English.
  • High level diplomatic skills, strong negotiation capabilities, and the ability to navigate complex social hierarchies.
  • Ability to speak or understand Twi or other local dialects gives you a significant advantage for community and labor relations.
  • Experience with Free Zone applications and management.
  • Familiarity with glass manufacturing or heavy industrial projects.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.
  • Accommodation to support your relocation or local living.
  • Opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
  • A collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • The chance to work with a leading company driving industrial growth in Ghana.

Location: This position is based in Takoradi.
