POSITION: Junior Sales and Technical Engineer

Saint-Gobain Group is seeking a driven Junior Sales and Technical Engineer to support business growth across our concrete admixtures and construction chemical portfolio. Your Mission

You will support business growth by bridging the gap between technical performance and customer needs. Your role includes conducting site visits and concrete trials, providing tailored technical solutions, managing key client relationships, and actively identifying sales opportunities. Your ability to analyze market trends, assess competitor activities, and coordinate with internal teams will directly influence revenue growth and market expansion.

Key Responsibilities

Your role spans technical support, sales development, customer relationship management, and market analysis. Here is what you will tackle:

Technical Support & Product Demonstration

  • You will conduct site visits, concrete trials, and product demonstrations to support product adoption and solve technical challenges on the ground.
  • Providing technical support to customers including batching plants, contractors, and project teams ensures optimal product performance at every stage.
  • Preparing and delivering technical proposals, product recommendations, and mix optimization solutions adds value beyond basic product supply.
  • Conducting training and technical education for customers on product application and best construction practices builds long term capability.

Sales & Business Development

  • You will identify sales opportunities for concrete admixtures and construction chemical products, matching solutions to customer requirements and achieving revenue targets.
  • Assessing opportunities for new product introductions including mortars and admixtures across the Group offering expands our market reach.
  • Developing and growing markets for new and existing products through strong customer engagement and technical presentations drives sustained growth.

Customer Relationship & Account Management

  • You will manage and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention through consistent follow through.
  • Monitoring customer accounts and following up on payments helps maintain healthy credit control and protects our business.

Market Analysis & Internal Coordination

  • You will analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities before they become obvious.
  • Coordinating with internal teams including technical, operations, and logistics ensures timely product delivery and responsive service support.

What You Bring to the Role

We are looking for a candidate with the right education, experience, and competencies. Here is what you need:

Minimum Requirements

  • A degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, or Materials Engineering. A postgraduate degree gives you an added advantage.
  • At least one to two years of experience in selling construction products, key accounts management, or business development.
  • Knowledge of the construction industry, especially the built environment and construction products.
  • A thorough understanding of the Ghanaian and West African market.
  • Strategic orientation with the ability to see the big picture while managing tactical execution.
  • An understanding of project management principles.
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to deliver appropriate solutions to complex problems.
  • Language proficiency in English; French gives you an added advantage.
