POSITION: Internal Audit Assistant

Leasafric Ghana PLC is seeking an Internal Audit Assistant to join our team in Accra. If you hold an HND or degree in accounting or a relevant discipline, bring two to four years of experience in financial accounting or auditing, and possess strong analytical skills, this role offers the opportunity to work with a leading non bank financial institution specializing in asset finance.

Your Mission

You will assist in performing analytical reviews of audit documents while preparing financial statements, reports, and compliance documentation. Your role spans revenue reconciliation, receivable audits, cash verification, payroll audits, bank reconciliation reviews, and periodic internal audits across departments and branches. Your attention to detail and ability to handle tight deadlines will directly strengthen our control environment.

Key Responsibilities

Your role spans reconciliation, verification, audit execution, and compliance reporting. Here is what you will tackle:

Revenue & Receivables

• You will perform regular reconciliation and analysis of various revenue streams across the business unit, catching discrepancies early.
• Conducting receivable audits on all business units flags critical areas such as age of receivables, delayed invoicing, un invoiced transactions, and overdue pending payments.

Cash & Account Verification

• You will spot check cash, verify cash balances, and perform reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
• Ascertaining the existence and true value of accounts requires counting and reconciling cash on hand, cash account ledgers, and confirming balances on hand.

Financial Posting & Petty Cash

• You will carry out financial posting reviews, confirming the reliability and integrity of financial and operational information.
• Reviewing and approving petty cash disbursement requests on TBS ensures proper authorization and documentation.

Payroll & Bank Reconciliation

• You will carry out payroll audits, reconcile payroll payments, and review outsourced payroll invoices on a monthly basis.
• Performing monthly bank reconciliation reviews catches discrepancies between our books and bank statements.

Periodic Internal Audits

• You will periodically perform internal audits of different departments and branches, ensuring conformance to laid down control procedures documented in the annual Internal Audit plan.

Qualifications & Experience

• An HND or degree in accounting or a relevant discipline.
• A minimum of two to four years of working experience in financial accounting or auditing roles.
• Professional certification gives you an added advantage.

Technical Skills

• Familiarity with word processing and spreadsheet applications is beneficial.
• Strong planning and organizational skills keep multiple audits on track.
• Excellent time management ensures you meet tight deadlines without sacrificing quality.

Personal Attributes

• Ability to handle pressure and tight deadlines with composure.
• An appropriately assertive manner when dealing with clients and colleagues.
