POSITION: Head of School – Academics
Pinnacle Star Academy is seeking a Head of School – Academics to join our institution in Tamale. Your Mission
You will take responsibility for providing strategic leadership and direction for all academic programmes. Your role includes supervising and supporting teaching staff to ensure high quality instruction, developing and implementing academic policies and curricula, and monitoring student performance to drive improvement initiatives. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with educational standards and regulatory requirements, promote a culture of excellence and continuous learning, coordinate staff training and performance evaluation, and work closely with management to achieve institutional goals.

Your role spans strategic leadership, staff supervision, curriculum development, performance monitoring, compliance, culture building, and collaboration. Here is what you will tackle:
Strategic Leadership
- You will provide strategic leadership and direction for all academic programmes, aligning them with the academy’s mission and goals.
- Developing and implementing academic policies that support high quality teaching and learning.
Staff Supervision & Support
- You will supervise and support teaching staff to ensure high quality instruction, offering feedback and resources.
- Coordinating staff training, development, and performance evaluation to build teacher capacity.
Curriculum & Policy
- You will develop, review, and implement academic policies and curricula, keeping them relevant and rigorous.
- Ensuring alignment with national educational standards and regulatory requirements.
Student Performance
- You will monitor student performance data, identifying trends and areas needing intervention.
- Driving initiatives to improve outcomes, from remedial programmes to enrichment activities.
Culture & Compliance
- You will promote a culture of excellence, discipline, and continuous learning among both staff and students.
- Ensuring compliance with all educational standards and regulatory requirements.
Collaboration
- You will work closely with management to achieve institutional goals, contributing to budgeting, planning, and resource allocation.
What You Bring to the Role
Age & Experience
- A minimum age of 27 years.
- At least seven years of relevant teaching and academic management experience, demonstrating progression from classroom to leadership.
Education
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field. A Master’s degree gives you a distinct advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership skills to inspire and direct a team of teachers.
- Strong communication skills to interact with staff, students, parents, and management.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and initiatives.
