Job Duties

• Support the day to day operation of hospital catering services.
• Ensure food hygiene and food safety standards are maintained.
• Supervise and train catering staff.
• Handle complaints from wards, restaurants, and coffee shop customers.
• Manage till cashing procedures within catering outlets.
• Order food supplies and maintain stock levels.
• Prepare fresh meals, sandwiches, and snacks within set deadlines.
• Compile weekly staff rotas and allocate additional working hours efficiently.
• Support delivery of balanced meals for patients with dietary requirements.
• Collaborate with ward staff and dieticians to meet patient nutrition needs.

Job Requirements

• City and Guilds 706/1, 706/2, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent qualification required.
• Knowledge of special diets and food preparation processes required.
• Advanced food hygiene knowledge required.
• Maths and English proficiency required.
• Experience in a Cook Supervisory role required.
• Knowledge of rota management required.
• Understanding of Food Safety Regulations required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure required.
• Ability to work independently and within a team required.
• Willingness to work weekends and provide short notice cover required.
• Ability to manage complaints professionally required.
