POSITION: Field Technician

Plato Consult is seeking a Field Technician to support broadband installation for our clients. If you possess basic digital skills for field updates using a smartphone or tablet, speak English and at least one local language, and hold a CCNA as an added advantage, this role offers the opportunity to provide professional, respectful service while completing daily reports and following safety procedures.

Your Mission

You will take responsibility for installing broadband equipment at homes and offices, ensuring each setup meets quality standards. Your role includes performing signal testing and basic troubleshooting, using field tools such as ladders and drills safely and efficiently, and completing daily reports using mobile apps or digital forms. Additionally, you will provide respectful, professional service to all clients and follow company safety and quality procedures at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Your role spans installation, testing, troubleshooting, tool use, reporting, and customer service. Here is what you will tackle:

Installation

• You will install broadband equipment at homes and offices, mounting devices and running cables as needed.
• Ensuring equipment functions correctly before leaving the premises.

Testing & Troubleshooting

• You will perform signal testing and basic troubleshooting, identifying and resolving connectivity issues.
• Escalating complex problems to senior technicians when necessary.

Tool Use

• You will use field tools such as ladders and drills safely and efficiently.
• Maintaining tools in good working condition.

Reporting

• You will complete daily reports using mobile apps or digital forms, documenting installation details, test results, and issues encountered.
• Submitting reports on time for billing and quality assurance.

Customer Service

• You will provide respectful, professional service to all clients, explaining the installation process and answering basic questions.
• Leaving the premises clean and tidy after each job.

Safety & Quality

• You will follow company safety and quality procedures at all times.
• Wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and following safe work practices.

What You Bring to the Role

Minimum Qualification

• A technical background or experience in telecom, electrical, or a related field.
• A valid driver’s license for traveling between job sites.
• Physical fitness to carry ladders and work in tight spaces.
• Basic digital skills, using a smartphone or tablet for field updates.
• Skilled in fiber optics splicing and termination.
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) gives you an added advantage.
• Experience with fiber or broadband installations.
• Familiarity with field equipment and safety standards.
• Ability to speak English and at least one local language for effective customer communication.
• Previous customer facing experience gives you a plus.
