The Governing Council of Evangelical Presbyterian College of Education in Amedzofe seeks a visionary leader. We need a Principal who will shape the future of teacher education in Ghana. Therefore, if you possess professorial rank, a PhD, and senior management experience, this opportunity deserves your closest attention.

The Role You Will Own

The Principal serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the College. Consequently, you will provide strategic leadership plus academic and administrative direction for every operation. This is not a ceremonial position. You will drive results personally.

Your Core Responsibilities

The successful applicant will take on these critical duties:

  • Lead the achievement of the college’s vision and mission. Set direction. Inspire action. Measure outcomes.
  • Oversee academic programme administration. Ensure quality teacher education across every department.
  • Maintain high academic standards. Champion quality assurance at all levels.
  • Supervise curriculum development and programme accreditation. Keep our offerings current and credible.
  • Promote innovation in teaching methods. Push educational delivery forward, not sideways.
  • Manage human, financial, and material resources. Every cedi and every person counts.
  • Encourage research, innovation, and community engagement. Connect the college to the wider world.
  • Enforce discipline and compliance. Follow statutes, policies, and regulations strictly.
  • Represent the college in all official matters. You are the face of E.P College of Education.

What You Must Bring

  • Academic and Professional Standing: You must be a distinguished scholar holding professorial rank. Additionally, you need a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or equivalent qualification in your area of specialisation.
  • Experience Requirements: A minimum of ten years teaching and research experience. Within that, at least five years in a senior management position. You have already led teams, managed budgets, and driven institutional change.
  • Research Track Record: Show clear evidence of scholarly research and publications. You contribute to knowledge, not just consume it.
  • Leadership and Administrative Skills: Strong leadership ability. Proven administrative competence. Excellent communication skills both written and spoken.
  • Stakeholder Partnership Ability: Demonstrate that you can foster partnerships with stakeholders inside and outside Ghana. You build bridges, not walls.
  • Resource Mobilization Experience: Show evidence of fundraising and resource mobilization. You know how to bring money and support into an institution.
  • People Management Capability: Manage human, financial, and physical resources effectively. Your team will follow you because they trust you.
  • Personal Qualities: Inspire staff and students alike. Maintain high moral values and unwavering integrity.

Terms of Appointment

The initial term lasts four years. Then, subject to satisfactory performance, the Governing Council may renew your appointment for one additional four year term only.

Required Application Documents

Submit seven (7) sets of hard copies containing every item below:

  • Application letter
  • Curriculum Vitae including names and addresses of three referees
  • Confidential recommendation letter from all three referees (two from the academic circle) sent directly in sealed envelopes
  • Certified true copies of academic and professional certificates
  • Vision statement for the college (not more than three pages)
