POSITION: Sales Officer

Work Health and Safety Organisation is seeking a Sales Officer to drive business development, market penetration, and revenue growth across French speaking West and Central African markets. If you have a proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets in multi country environments, a strong network within Francophone markets, and fluency in French and English, this role offers the opportunity to manage the full sales cycle, deliver technical commercial presentations, build client relationships, monitor competitor activities, and collaborate with engineering and marketing teams.

As a Sales Officer, you will not simply sell; you will identify and prospect new business opportunities across Francophone Africa, manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to contract signing, conduct market segmentation and territory mapping, deliver persuasive sales pitches and product demonstrations, and build strong long term customer relationships with key accounts, distributors, EPCs, government agencies, and corporate buyers.

Key Responsibilities

Your role spans sales and business development, client relationship management, market intelligence and reporting, and collaboration and stakeholder engagement. Here is what you will tackle:

Sales & Business Development

  • You will identify, prospect, and convert new business opportunities across Francophone Africa.
  • Managing the full sales cycle from lead generation to contract signing and post sales follow up.
  • Conducting market segmentation, customer profiling, and territory mapping to support strategic growth.
  • Delivering persuasive sales pitches, product demonstrations, and technical commercial presentations to clients.

Client Relationship Management

  • You will build and maintain strong long term customer relationships with key accounts, distributors, EPCs, government agencies, and corporate buyers.
  • Providing professional support on product selection, system design options, and energy cost optimisation.
  • Ensuring high client satisfaction and promoting repeat business.

Market Intelligence & Reporting

  • You will monitor emerging opportunities, competitor activities, and industry trends across the region.
  • Providing weekly and monthly sales reports, forecasts, pipeline updates, and market insights to the Country Manager.
  • Recommending strategies for market entry, pricing, distribution expansion, and product positioning.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • You will work closely with engineering, logistics, customer service, and finance teams to ensure seamless execution of orders.
  • Then, Supporting marketing teams in organising product promotions, exhibitions, and digital campaigns in Francophone markets.
  • Finally, Liaising with government bodies, regulators, and energy agencies when required.

What You Bring to the Role

Education & Experience

  • A minimum bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Renewable Energy, Marketing, or a related field.
  • A minimum of three to five years of sales experience, preferably in renewable energy, power solutions, or technical B2B industries.
  • Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written, is mandatory.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets in multi country environments.
  • A strong network within Francophone West and Central African markets gives you an added advantage.

Technical Knowledge

  • A strong understanding of solar PV systems, hybrid solutions, inverters, batteries, and energy efficiency solutions.

Skills & Personal Attributes

  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills.
  • High level of professionalism, self motivation, and cultural awareness.
  • Ability to travel frequently across the Francophone Africa region.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM tools.
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrate flexibility, and respond effectively to dynamic market conditions.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
  • Team spirit and ability to interact with diverse stakeholders in a multicultural context.
