POSITION: Recruitment Officer
The African Union (AU) is seeking a Recruitment Officer to provide general recruitment and onboarding support. If you are fluent in one of the AU’s official working languages and committed to transparency and accountability, this role offers the opportunity to draft Standard Operating Procedures, monitor recruitment effectiveness, publish vacancies, coordinate interviews, and prepare job offers.

As a Recruitment Officer, you will not simply process applications; you will assist in implementing recruitment plans, ensure compliance with established practices, and provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Policy & Procedure: Draft and define approaches, formulating Standard Operating Procedures, policies, guidelines, and tools for shortlisting, interviewing, and selection.
- Recruitment Planning: Monitor the effectiveness of HR rules and regulations, contributing to the development of the yearly recruitment plan.
- Vacancy Management: Draft job openings in consultation with hiring managers, ensuring evaluation criteria align with approved documents, and publish vacancies on the AU website and social media platforms.
- Interview Coordination: Coordinate shortlisting and interview activities using SuccessFactors for candidate generation and scoring.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with established recruitment practices and staff regulations throughout all processes.
- Onboarding: Seek approval for appointments, create contracts in the SAP system, and prepare job offers for successful candidates.
What You Bring to the Role
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Management, Public Administration, Marketing, or a related field .
- Experience: A minimum of two years of relevant work experience .
- Key Skills: Excellent communication, planning, organizational, research, and analytical skills; interpersonal and negotiation abilities; and proficiency with Microsoft Office and AU computer software systems .
- Languages: Proficiency in one of the AU official working languages (French, English, Portuguese, Arabic, Swahili, or Spanish); fluency in another AU language is an added advantage .
