Consequently, we need a sharp, proactive, and experienced Supervisor for our Network Operations Center (NOC) in Accra. This is not a back-office role. You will lead a team of vendor technicians in a 24/7 environment, ensuring maximum network availability for our entire asset portfolio. You will manage incidents, oversee vendor relationships, and drive continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities
As NOC Support Supervisor, you will own the performance of your shift team. You will ensure the right people with the right skills are always in place to handle outages and impairments. You will partner with external maintenance vendors to manage tickets, escalations, and service level agreements. Your ability to analyze data, produce quality reports, and resolve issues quickly will directly impact our customers and our reputation.
Your core responsibilities will include:
Team Leadership & Shift Management
- Supervise NOC Technicians: You will lead a team of Vendor NOC Technicians, ensuring they are motivated, skilled, and performing at their best.
- Maintain Effective Shift Coverage: You will create and manage shift schedules that guarantee 24/7 coverage. You will ensure every shift has appropriately skilled personnel ready to respond.
- Coach and Mentor Your Team: You will provide day-to-day interaction, team meetings, and individual coaching. You will identify skill gaps and develop your people as part of our High Performance Culture.
- Resolve Personnel Issues: You will proactively identify and address personnel challenges, working with the NOC Manager and HR to maintain a positive, collaborative team environment.
Operational Excellence & Incident Management
- Manage NOC Activities for Reliability: You will drive network reliability metrics including SLA compliance, Mean Time To Repair (MTTR), alarm recovery, and system availability.
- Oversee Incident Resolution: You will ensure your team responds to outage events and impairments swiftly. You will escalate issues that cannot be resolved within appropriate timeframes to the right individuals and teams.
- Deliver Event Analysis: You will provide management with clear analysis of outage events and reasons for disruptions. You will request and coordinate outage summations when needed.
- Audit Data Integrity: You will maintain the accuracy of operations-centric data in all tools and systems. You will ensure proper closure of tickets and tasks with complete updates.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Build Strong Relationships: You will liaise with all Vendors and Clients accessing BTS sites. You will build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage Vendor Performance: You will oversee external maintenance and operations vendors, ensuring they meet agreed SLAs. You will manage ticket escalations effectively.
- Ensure Smooth Communication: You will act as a bridge between your team, management, vendors, and clients. Clear communication will prevent misunderstandings and speed up resolutions.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify Improvement Initiatives: You will proactively spot opportunities to improve NOC processes and team performance. You will recommend and help implement changes that make us better.
- Ensure Policy Compliance: You will ensure your team follows SMPMS NOC operational objectives, policies, procedures, and reporting metrics without exception.
The Ideal Candidate Profile
We are looking for a leader who combines technical understanding with people management skills. You must be comfortable in a 24/7 environment and ready to take ownership of outcomes.
To excel in this role, you will need:
Education & Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics, Computer Science, or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will also be considered.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in NOC supervisory operations. You have led teams and managed shifts before.
- More than 2 years of experience in Telecommunications or a closely related industry. You understand the landscape.
Technical & Leadership Skills
- Strong understanding of network operations, incident management, and SLA frameworks.
- Proven ability to maintain effective shift schedules and manage team performance.
- Experience with operational tools and systems, ensuring data integrity and proper ticket management.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills to build trust with vendors, clients, and internal teams.
- Strong analytical skills to produce quality reports and analyze outage events.
- A proactive mindset for identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
