Adverbe Media stands as a pioneering podcast network documenting the stories, people, and ideas shaping African creativity, culture, and commerce. We are building an archive of conversations that matter, taking a different approach to podcasting in Ghana. Our flagship show, MAD Conversations, is a video first podcast exploring the Marketing, Advertising, and Digital industry in Ghana. Through in depth conversations, we document notable campaigns, strategies, and case studies moving the industry forward. Consequently, we seek a Creative Production Assistant who shares our vision and can contribute to our visual and production excellence.

The Opportunity Awaits You

We currently seek a Creative Production Assistant comfortable on both sides of production: on set and post production. This supporting role centres on two core responsibilities: production support and graphic design. In production, you will serve as our dedicated photographer on set during recording sessions, capturing the stills that document the making of each episode. You will also provide post production editing support to our Video Producer and Editor when workload demands it. In design, you will maintain and execute the visual templates that give our content a sharp, consistent, and professional look. Your work will be published, your eye will matter, and your output will directly represent Adverbe to our audience.

What You’ll Do

Production Support (60%)

On Set (Primary):

• Capture high quality stills throughout every recording session, including guest portraits, candid production moments, and setup shots.
• Frame and compose shots that reflect Adverbe’s visual aesthetic: clean, editorial, and purposeful.
• Cull, select, and lightly retouch the best images from each shoot.
• Deliver polished photo sets within 48 hours of recording.
• Build and maintain an organised archive of production photography across all episodes.
• Assist with equipment setup and breakdown, including cameras, lighting, audio, and studio gear.
• Monitor technical quality during recordings and flag issues as they arise.

Post Production (Secondary):

• Assist with video editing tasks as directed, including rough cuts, clip trimming, audio syncing, and export preparation.
• Edit 3 to 5 short promotional clips of 30 to 90 seconds per episode for social media under the direction of the senior editor.
• Ensure brand consistency and quality standards on all post production work.
• Communicate proactively about progress and flag issues requiring the senior editor’s attention.

Graphic Design (40%)

• Design and produce episode thumbnails for YouTube and audio platforms, working within established templates.
• Create promotional graphics, quote cards, and digital promo materials for social media including Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Facebook, and X.
• Adapt all visual assets for different platform dimensions and specifications.
• Maintain brand consistency across every visual touchpoint, including typography, colour, imagery, and layout.
• Collaborate with the Distribution and Community Coordinator to ensure design assets are delivered on time for publishing.
• Flag and raise design system improvements when you identify inconsistencies or upgrade opportunities.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Required Skills

• Photography: Understanding of light, composition, and how to photograph people with intention.
• Graphic Design Proficiency: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or Canva at an intermediate to advanced level.
• Video Editing Basics: Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve; ability to execute editing tasks with direction.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to catch alignment issues, colour inconsistencies, and quality problems.
• Deadline Discipline: Capacity to manage multiple deliverables and communicate clearly when anything is at risk.

Nice to Have (But Not Required)

• Adobe Lightroom or Capture One for photo editing and batch retouching.
• Motion graphics experience with After Effects.
• Experience designing for podcast or media brands.
• Portrait or event photography background.
• Familiarity with podcast or video production workflows.
